Experienced rider and seasoned camper: here are some tips for solo adventure riding

Preparing a self-supported expedition in remote areas means planning ahead and following key rules. Locate gas stations along your route and, if needed, increase your fuel capacity. Make sure you know how to use your GPS and bring paper maps as a backup or alternative; consider carrying a satellite communication device as well. Finally, practice your off-road riding skills before you leave! Need full camping gear? Rent a lightweight and compact kit from Locapaq. However, if you plan to use a rental motorcycle, note that trail riding is not permitted.

Now, here’s a great idea for an epic road trip: the Expedition 51°, a stunning loop starting from the Côte-Nord—more than 1,700 km of wild landscapes and total escape guaranteed.

Eco-friendly – Budget-friendly

Thanks to minimal fuel consumption over long distances, motorcycling is a great option—both for your wallet and for the environment. And if you ride two-up and camp along the way, that’s when you’re really talking about nature travel and sustainable tourism.

Don’t worry about bad weather or going minimal—there’s top-quality gear designed for motorcycle travel; and even more: training activities to help you get ready!

Bike trip: one step closer to adventure

Talking about a road trip is already dreaming of freedom and escape. But on a motorcycle, the morning breeze, sea spray, and the scent of the forest are always in the air… That’s the special bonus motorcycling brings! The narrow little trail that veers off toward Lac aux Outardes now feels like an invitation to explore, and who knows—you might just have a moose join you for part of the ride.

If you got a little thrill reading this and feel the itch to go adventure riding, contact B46 Aventures to find the off-road activity that’s right for you.

Head east along the Expedition 51° route

If you’ve never been on a motorcycle road trip before, this route is a great choice—both easy and breathtaking. Route 138 is paved, so no gravel trails requiring special riding skills; it’s a tourist route, so no risk of getting lost or running out of gas; and it’s stunning, so immediate pleasure is guaranteed. Depending on how much time you have and how adventurous you feel, here’s a flexible itinerary whose first 650 km stretch follows the Whale Route from Baie-Comeau.
